Its That Time Again...

Hello again family and friends,

Well, Mia is growing like a weed! I can't believe she is two already. Where does the time go?
She has started to talk a lot more now too. Everyday she is saying something new or putting two or three words together. Its fun to watch her learn. She is a very smart cookie.

School is going well. I am in a Literature class now. As most of you may or may not know, I have never liked to read and there is a lot of reading in this class. Its ok so far but still not a favorite class of mine. Can't wait till its done and on to the next class. With each new class, it just means I am that much closer to Graduation.

I was offered a Preschool Teaching position a few months ago and I really was considering it. However, I just found out that they gave my position away faster than I could apply for it. Of course, I am a little bummed out now. I was looking forward to the experience and not to mention being able to get out of the house for a change.
I may look into something else.

Sorry but I will have to cut this blog short. I really don't have any new news to report. Maybe next month :o)

Happy New Year 2008

Dear Friends and Family,

Happy New Year! I hope that everyone had a very merry Christmas and a safe start to the 2008 new year.

We had a good Christmas. Mia made out like a bandit! She got a bike, basketball set, puzzles, books, coloring books, dolls, toys, stuffed animals and some clothes just to name a few.

I got to cook my very first Christmas dinner. I must say that it all came out very well. Everyone seemed to enjoy it and we had plenty of leftovers for ham sandwiches.

Mia enjoyed her 2nd Birthday. We had her party at an indoor play ground. She loves that place. She got some very nice gifts. I think my favorite was a very cute adorable leather jacket.

I had a friend of mine make the cakes and they came out cute! The theme was Elmo and we also added a Cookie Monster cake too. She of course liked the Elmo cake best.

School for me is going well. I'm almost done with my current class and will be moving on to a Literature class next. I enjoy it so far...except for all the papers I have to do. (yuck)
It's interesting to me how teachers can be so different in their grading. So far, I have liked all of my teachers but one.
I only have 12 more classes to go and I will be done! I will finish February or March of 2009 and I am currently set to graduate May of 2009! I'm so excited I can't wait! Come on 2009!! :-)

Kevin is still awaiting word from the Sheriffs Office position. We have heard through the grape vine that the next class will be in April so that means that they should be doing background checks now and they should be calling references soon. Please continue to pray that this position will fall into place for him soon.
If it does not we have been toying with the idea of moving. This is not a definite thing just a discussion and our thoughts at this time. I would love to move and get out of Florida. So far, Kevin isn't against the idea so that is good :-)
Keep us in your prayers regarding this as well.

Love to all,

Kevin, Allison and Mia

Merry Christmas

Dear Friends and Family,

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to you all! This year has just flown by so fast.

OK its updating time! ...

Kevin, Mia and I, went up to North Carolina for Thanksgiving this year. We had a blast. We got to meet my niece for the first time. What a cutie she is. I'm sure that she and Mia will be heart breakers when they get older.

We didn't get to see any snow but the morning we left NC to come back home, our car was covered in ice. We did see some very far off mountain tops with snow on top but, we would have much rather seen it up close and let Mia play in it. Maybe next year for Christmas!

We are here for Christmas this year. This year I will be cooking my very first Christmas ham. (oh boy, wish me luck!)

This Christmas should be a lot of fun. Mia loves to rip paper so she should enjoy opening all her gifts.

We took her to get her very first Christmas tree 2 weeks ago. She seemed to enjoy it. We got home and she just couldn't keep her hands off of it. She helped me decorate the tree for a little bit and then she decided that she wanted to Undecorate it. (lol)

It took me a few days to teach her not to touch the tree or the ornaments. She's doing much better now. She likes watching the lights twinkle and flash.

I cant believe that Mia is almost two! Where does the time go? This year we are having her party at an indoor play place called, "Lets Play." We have been there several times with her and she loves it. She hates leaving. I'm sure that she will love it and that she will enjoy herself with family and friends.
Her theme this year is Elmo. Believe it or not, I had a hard time trying to decide which theme to do for her this year. I hope it gets easier. (lol)
After her party, everyone is coming back to our house for cake. I can't wait to take a lot of pictures for you all to see. She loves cake! Then again, who doesn't.

Well, school is going well for me. I'm in my 6th class now. I have to take 4 more classes and I will be considered a Senior. (whohoo) I cant' wait to be done with school.
I'm still watching Michelle (6 month old) and Ivy (2.5 years old) from the house.

Kevin is getting over a nasty cold that he has had for the last few days. We thought he had the flu but he didn't. Thank goodness.
Work is going about the same for him.

Well, I think that is all for right now. Have a safe and Merry Christmas everyone!

Love,
Kevin, Allison and Mia

Hello

Hello everyone!

The Flagler Beach Police Department had their 13th annual Kids N Kops Halloween Event. Mia got all dressed up as Tinkerbelle. She didn't like it at first but, she got used to it.

Kevin got to take part in the haunted house again this year. We tried to take Mia through it without all the bells and whistles going but, she was too scared to even enter it.

She loved playing the games. She made a new friend that she followed everywhere. It was cute!
As you can see, we got rained out.

We went and got our Christmas pictures done today. That was interesting. Mia was very tired and she got hard to manage. They all came out nice and I hope to have enough to give out to everyone.

In a few weeks Mia and I will be heading up to North Carolina for Thanksgiving! I can't wait! We are keeping our fingers crossed that Kevin will be able to come with us.

School is going well. I am about to finish my English Comp. II class. Right now, I have a B+ in the class. My next class will be a little more challenging, Cultural Anthropology. I already know that I have a lot of reading to do every week. On the other hand, I get to choose my paper topic so that is a plus. I got to choose my paper topic for this English class as well. I chose Global Warming. So far, it is coming along very nice. I am almost done and it is due this Sunday by midnight. I shouldn't have a problem finishing it up.

Well, that is all the news I have for now. Hope everyone is doing well.

Take care,
Allison

Hello all

Dear friends and family,Well this is all very new to me so where to I begin??

Mia is 21 months old now. I can't believe that she is going to be two soon. How time flys. She is putting more and more words together everyday. It's fun to hear her talking more too. She loves to dance and run around in circles. Her new favorite obsessions are Elmo and Dora the Explorer.
I am currently watching two kids from the house. Michelle is 4 months old and Ivy is almost three. Mia was very jealous at first and some days she still is but, more often then not, she wants to help me with the baby. She loves it when Ivy comes to play her. Ivy is part time and I usually only have her once or twice a month. Michelle on the other hand is full time Monday through Friday 8am-2pm. I love those hours. I still have time in the day to go out and do whatever I need to get done. :)
I'm also back in school full time. I'm attending Ashford University for my BA in Education. All my classes are online which really helps. I wouldn't be able to go back to school if it weren't for the online classes and convenience. Keep me in your prayers as some of classes seem to be getting harder. I have to write a paper every 4 weeks. Trying to find the time to do that has been challenging at times. Come on May 2009 (my graduation)!!!
Kevin has been really busy with work lately. They have lost a couple officers. They are really short handed and every now and then he gets a few hours of overtime.
His side business for computer websites seems to be working well. He has been getting a lot of hits lately. He just landed two big jobs! All very good motivators for him.
Please continue to pray for him as he still has a decision to make about his job. He has applied for the Sheriffs Office and we are still waiting to here from them.
Well, that is it for now. Check back soon for more updates!! :)

Love,Kevin, Allison and Mia
